Yoga means union, melting into higher consciousness, being here now with awareness.
Dr Yogrishi
Yoga
Originating from India, Yoga is a practice that is thousands of years old and to this day the teachings are very much alive and popular. Yoga literally means union, coming from the Sanskrit Yuj, meaning to yoke the body, breath, mind and spirit together. Yoga is an integration of one's thoughts, words and deeds, and is underpinned by a philosophy and a science. Yoga in essence is about the mind and spirit, the physical aspect of the practice is a way of quieting the mind, learning to to sit with ourselves and look inward. This path can be a gateway to knowing our true nature, to create change, develop insight and embrace the oneness of the human experience, by cultivating loving kindness and compassion for oneself and the other.

Pregnancy Yoga
Pregnancy is a powerful time and yoga offers you a space to connect with your changing body and relax within a supportive community of other expectant parents. It is a gentle and safe way to stay strong and energised as the yoga postures increase body awareness, improves posture, circulation and confidence.
My intention is for you to have a deeper understanding of your amazing body and the innate body wisdom that supports this profound developmental journey it is on; creating a baby and preparing for birth. It can be a time of feeling all the feels, the challenge, the joy, worry and excitement. What I offer are tools to help navigate the waves to stay anchored and present, building a trusting relationship with yourself, your inner wisdom and your baby.
“Yolande is a very kind, caring and knowledgeable yoga teacher (so much so I asked her to be my Doula). I've done two rounds of pregnancy and postnatal yoga with Yolande. Her pregnancy yoga classes were always a welcome retreat to spend some time focusing on my pregnancy and my changing body as well as an opportunity to slow down.”

Postnatal Yoga
After the expansion of pregnancy now is a time to heal, nourish and restore. Postnatal yoga offers a time to reintegrate, supporting you in finding your way home; home to this new body, new role and new way of being. In these sessions I hope you will find ease through a supportive community at a time when perhaps you feel tired, raw and overwhelmed, but it is also a time to celebrate your wins which can all too easily be overlooked at a time of potential vulnerability and doubt.
What I offer is a place for you to come, just as you are, a moment to focus on you to fill your metaphorical cup, with specialised postnatal movement and breath practices that support and regulate your nervous system, rehabilitate your pelvic muscles and strengthen your back and your core. My intention is for you to feel grounded, nourished, nurtured, energised and uplifted.
“I struggled with postnatal depression and just knowing I had her wonderful class to look forward to, to reconnect with my body, connect with my baby and find some stillness, was invaluable”

Womb Yoga
Well womb yoga is a unique space to come home to your body and honour the deep cyclical wisdom of the womb space. These sessions are open to you wherever you may be in your life cycle; menstruating, fertility, pregnant, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause. This is a place to connect to the cyclical nature of your hormones and how these ebbs and flows can affect how we show up in our daily lives.
This class speaks to the four inner seasons of the menstrual cycle and the phases of the moon, which are powerful tools, whether you bleed or not, in reclaiming the innate power of your inner wisdom.
Womb yoga is a subtle, but powerful, practice of nourishing movement, nurturing breath with a focus on cultivating a connection to the pelvis, pelvic muscles and the womb space. The benefits of this practice can improve your experience with your menstrual cycle, harness the power of your hormones, decrease stress, empower through knowledge and develop a kinder and more compassionate relationship to your body, mind and emotions.

Yoga for Menopause
Menopause Yoga is an uniquely crafted practice made up of a specific combination of yoga poses, breathing techniques and mindful meditation practices that have been adapted to help people manage the main symptoms of menopause. Menopause Yoga also includes information on why you may be experiencing certain symptoms, helping you to understand the changes in your body and how these changes can be supported with practical lifestyle suggestions such as nutrition, natural remedies, complementary therapies and hormone replacement therapy so you can feel more informed and empowered.
A Menopause yoga class offers a practice using poses designed to help alleviate the symptoms an individual may be experiencing and uses eastern philosophy to help to frame the approach, aiming to empower women as they step into this new chapter of their lives. We start with a sharing circle, to have space to share our experiences, before we move into physical practice with breath, which includes a mix of slow vinyasa, yin, strength and restorative yoga. Every session ends with relaxation, and time to journal and reflect.
